People make Places, Places make People, Places Matter! We are Places Matter! an organisation devoted to generating a strong sense of place in living, working and learning environments throughout the Northwest.

Much of the Places Matter! programme is delivered with partner organisations including RIBA North West, the NWDA and CABE.

A high quality built environment is crucial to the region's economic prosperity and quality of life.

How lucky we are – even those devastated by floods in the Lake District have a roof over their heads and have only lost their possessions, not their lives - unlike those thousands in Haiti who one month on still lack that fundamental human need – shelter.
