Design Review service - Fees & Subscriptions information
To date North West Design Review has largely been subsidised by the North West Development Agency (NWDA) and Design Council Cabe. With the closure of the NWDA, Places Matter! is no longer able to offer a free service to users and in line with the majority of other Design Review services around the country is now charging.
There is a dedicated 4x4 Subscription Package for Local Authorities. Details of this twelve month subscription covering Design Review, enabling support and training have been sent to all Local Authorities in the North West. If you are in a Local Authority in the North West and would like further information or would like to discuss the subscription package please contact Places Matter! on 0151 703 0135.
Alternatively it will now be possible to commission these services individually at the following rates:
1. Design Review, £1,500 + VAT per scheme
2. Enabling Support, can vary according to your needs. Design Review Panel Members can be deployed singly or as part of a small team to provide input in the following areas (examples only) :
- To assist with development briefs
- Design input into a Local Plan
- Contribute to a visioning day
- Input into Design Competitions, brief, panel participation and publicity
Enabling support is available at £750 per day per panel member plus VAT.
3. Design Training, Places Matter! has delivered over 55 training workshops since its formation in 2007 to nearly 1,500 delegates. Programmes have included Inspirational Spaces, Building in Context, Building for Life, Introduction to Urban Design, Introduction to Localism and Manual for Streets. Training is delivered by professionals and can be targeted at a variety of groups and levels including Local Authority Officers, Councillors, and Community Groups at a time, venue, pace and scale to suit your requirements.
Any relevant topic can be delivered as a talk, interactive workshop or a study visit/tour and can be pitched at the appropriate level for participants. We are also able to deliver events across Local Authority boundaries. All of these activities would contribute towards professional CPD targets set by the relevant professional institutes.
The training service is available at a day rate of £1,500 plus VAT.
