Description: Founded in 1797 to provide a meeting place where ideas and information could be exchanged in elegant surroundings, this beautiful building continues to provide this facility. The Athenaeum has had many distinguished members, including William Roscoe. Visit the splendid News Room and the stunning Elliptical Staircase.
