The impact of the recession on construction professionals

Experian and IFF Research were commissioned by the Construction Industry Council with funding from ConstructionSkills to produce research reports to provide an authoritative and comprehensive analysis on the impact of the recession.
Mark Way, Director of Skills CIC and James Hastings, Head of Research and Development Experian, will provide delegates with an understanding of the research conducted, the results, and an opportunity for discussion. All delegates will also be provided with a copy of the research paper.
The Experian Research deals with:
The Economic Environment
• An overview of business and consumer
confidence
• Prospects for the main sector and a view
from the devolved nations
The Prospects for Construction
• Latest orders and outputs
• The outlook for 2011
The Impact of the Recession on Construction Professionals

with employment and output forecasts
The IFF Research deals with the impact of the recession on:
• The current and expected future size and nature of the workforce in the professional
services sector
• Recruitment of graduates
• Training activity
• Skill requirements
• The measures that firms in the sector have taken in response to the recession
• Employer views on the availability and quality of business support and advice
• The extent of any emerging new skill requirements
